Requirements
Feel reassured knowing that you will receive advice and guidance on how to craft your article effectively. It’s entirely up to you to write, but we are here to help you present your message in the best possible light.
1. Content Requirements
Each submission must originate from the contributor’s research, thesis, or dissertation and be transformed into a journalistic article that emphasizes economic principles in a narrative suitable for a broad readership. This promotes the dissemination of knowledge in an engaging manner that reaches beyond academic circles.

2. Structural Requirements
Submissions are recommended to be 1000 words long (although longer articles are permissible, the attention span of readers tends to not be as long). They should have a well-structured format that includes an eye-catching and informative title and an introduction that captures the relevance of the topic. This ensures articles are both engaging and informative, adhering to journalistic standards that facilitate reader engagement.

3. Multimedia Integration
Contributors are encouraged to include images, graphics, or other multimedia elements to complement and enhance the textual content. Visuals can significantly enhance understanding and engagement, making complex topics more accessible. Figures adapted from the author’s research, thesis or dissertation are welcome.

4. Submission Timeline
External parties must contact Rostra Economica with an abstract, media pitch, or brief description of their content. A member of the Editorial Board or a Head Editor will then arrange their publication date and put them in touch with a copy-editor.
Articles must then be submitted to the copy-editor at least 7 days before the intended publication date. This allows sufficient time for editorial review and revisions to ensure quality and coherence.

5. Editorial Freedom
Contributors are free to express their opinions without endorsement or condemnation from the Editorial Board, except in cases provisioned by Dutch or EU law.
At Rostra Economica, editors are free to express their opinions, and any expression of thought is that of the editor and the editor alone. The Editorial Board will not be making any endorsements or condemnations of the views of its editors and will not seek to exert influence. This upholds the principle of free speech while ensuring content remains respectful, high-quality, and non-incendiary.

6. Copyright Retention
Copyright for all submitted articles remains with the contributor. The same applies to the research, thesis or dissertation that the article is derived from. The author is free to include a link to the full text of their research, thesis or dissertation at the end of their Rostra Research article.

7. Responsibility for Content
Complementary to (5), the contributor retains full responsibility for the content of the article. This encourages contributors to ensure accuracy and reliability in their work, maintaining the integrity of the information while allowing Rostra Economica to facilitate a broad dissemination platform without assuming liability.

8. Final Provisions
All external contributors to the Rostra Research column are considered Guest Editors.
Joint publications are allowed to be transformed into Rostra Research articles, as long as these articles are also jointly authored or the co-author agrees to the publication without attribution.
The full versions of research papers, theses and dissertations should, in principle, be accessible online and available to members of the Editorial Board and Head Editors on request.
Research papers, theses and dissertations that contain proprietary information for which a non-disclosure agreement is required cannot be used to create Rostra Research articles.
Research papers, theses and dissertations that contain information for which special ethical considerations apply or have been subject to review by an ethics committee can only be used to create Rostra Research articles upon review and approval of the Editor-in-Chief.
